Drew Tyger Colonial Coffee Shop - Monday Night Ride at 6

The Monday night ride has steadily continued this summer without much organization.   I come out about 2 times a month and there always seems to be a group or sometimes a single rider there at 6 PM.  Sunset tonight is at 7:20, so I after this week I'm going to start meeting there at 5:30, rather then 6.  When I say that, I may or may not show up depending on when I get off work.  This doesn't mean you can't show up then!

My name is Shannon Trautmann, I am student at Millersville University. This semester myself and fellow classmates are constructing a campaign plan for United Disabilities Services (UDS) in Lancaster, for their annual DreamRide Lancaster event. The DreamRide Lancaster event is a bike race taking place in July, the main goal of the event is to raise awareness and funds for UDS and its service dog program.

Barry Klein 1st Annual (hopefully) York County Perimeter Ride Experience 9/18/10

Shawn Beeler, Drew Tyger, and myself set out at approximately 6:30 AM on a chilly morning on Saturday 9/18/10. We started at The Cycleworks in Wrightsville and had our minds set to attempt the first ever (that I know of) York County perimeter ride. I had my Garmin set to navigate a route that I had planned through mapmyride and a cue sheet that I was hoping we wouldn't have to use. Alan Brocious Monday night "Holy Crap" ride

Watch for deer! Tonight we had a great ride even though a deer nearly took out three of us. What an event, heart still racing and it all happened in slow motion while going down the hill to lake Redman. The crazy part after the deer hit a car square in the front fender it flew over CK, landing behind me and Barry ran over a leg of it.

Great story topic for next weeks ride.

Alan Brocious iPhone iMapMyRide

If you have an iPhone download and try iMapMyRide it is worth the time if you do not have a Garmin 305 or 705. No HR or cadence but excellent GPS for speed, pace, route and distance. Check the settings the default ones are really bad, and turn off the voice notifications. Automatic route load up and compare routes from last completed.

Howard Strang GPS for cycling

I'm trying to find the cheapest way to set up a GPS rig for my bike. As of right now I'm considering using a motorcycle mount to mount the GPS that I already have. It's relatively small and has little weight so I would feel comfortable using it while riding for practice but probably would have to remove it for races. Robert C. Hess Missoula, Montana

My Mother and step-dad live in Missoula, MT and are not doing well health-wise. I spent the month of September there to help my sister. I rented a bike for the month and rode into town most every day. It was great being in a town that is so bike friendly. Lot's of bike lanes and most business have racks to lock up. Everyday was beautiful for the entire month. Several hours of nice biking and street cafes helped balance dealing with Mom and my step-dad who are not thinking too clearly anymore.

Robert C. Hess Pine Creek Rail Trail Ride

Tim Roden of the Amerian Diabetes Association organized a 45 mile ride on the Pine Creek rail trail thru the PA grand Canyon. Bus leaves Bass Pro, Harrisburg at 6:30 AM. Bikes are transported. Cost is $75.00. Let me know if you're interested. He could use a few more riders. Date of ride is Oct. 3rd
