Thumbnail
August 6, 2011 from 8am to 5pm
This is a first time event being organized by Mike Dunn (commentator in ESPN for drag racing and former NHRA drag racer) and a few others through The Cycleworks.  If it works out well there may be more to follow.  It will be a part of the Hellam Carnival and will be an all day event.  Mike, with the help of a friend from his drag racing contacts has been able acquire a drag racing starting tree and computer that will monitor reaction time, 50 m speed/time, 100 m speed/time, race time, etc.  It…See More

Monday Night "Social" Ride at Behind Colonial Coffee Shop

Thumbnail
May 23, 2011 from 5:45pm to 7:30pm
This ride has been split into two groups this year.  The B/C group has been leaving at 5:45 and the A/B group has been leaving at 6:00.  I would personally prefer 1 big group with no-drop but can understand the split due to it not being a "recovery/casual" ride.  So... if you want to recover or do a less strenuous ride be ready by 5:45 and if you want to test your fitness a bit be ready by 6:00.  Everyone is welcome and we welcome new riders!! See More

9 AM Sunday Indian Rock at Indian Rock Elementary School

May 15, 2011 from 9am to 12pm
There has been a change of plans and the ride this week will meet at 8:30 AM due to riders meeting that have time constraints and the plan for a longer route.  The route will be the New Freedom loop with an extension into Pretty Boy Reservoir for those that are interested in adding miles.  The Pretty Boy extension is VERY hilly and challenging.  We will ride out together to New Freedom then will split up from there.  Pace will be 18-20 mph and distance is 45 miles for the New Freedom Loop and…See More

Monday Night Colonial Coffee Shop Social Ride at Behind Colonial Coffee Shop

Thumbnail
May 9, 2011 from 6pm to 7:45pm
This ride is for all levels and a social ride.  We typically ride 20 or so miles regrouping at the top of climbs.  It may split in 2 groups if needed but the ride is a no drop social ride.  It is a great ride for all levels and we welcome new cyclists to the area!

This is a no-drop social ride.  Its great for all levels and we welcome new riders!  Come out and meet other local cyclists for a 20-25 "casual" ride.  It sometimes speeds up a little but we try and keep that to a minimum!

Yea... I'm thinking Bux by Vito's.  The final climb would be nice but I have a feeling I'd skip it and ride home ;-)   This Sunday is Easter so I will not post.  Next Sunday I may be racing Tour de…

Bux would be good. That's a nice climb to finish at the end of the ride, haha! ...granted you're finishing from the north side of RT83 in SoYo.

1st Annual (hopefully) York County Perimeter Ride Experience 9/18/10

Shawn Beeler, Drew Tyger, and myself set out at approximately 6:30 AM on a chilly morning on Saturday 9/18/10. We started at The Cycleworks in Wrightsville and had our minds set to attempt the first ever (that I know of) York County perimeter ride. I had my Garmin set to navigate a route that I had planned through mapmyride and a cue sheet that I was hoping we wouldn't have to use. As we climbed over Lauxmont we took it easy over our first hill in great spirits and excited to begin our…

Barry,

Ed asked me if I was interested in doing them again this year.  To which I promptly and politely declined the invitation.  I'm sure he would love to have somebody head this up, but it'll have to be another somebody besides me.  The experience left me somewhat less than completely satisfied.
