Hello all, Been recharging my batteries for a couple/few months and thinking ahead to 2011. I figure on running the "Cabin Fever" Sunday morning MTB rides out of our place in Glen Rock just after…Continue

Hi Mike, Saw your name of the YCC roster and wondered if you're the Rev that married Rita and I some 21 years ago.  Outdoor ceremony on a small farmette between Glen Rock and New Freedom.  Either way, welcome to the local cycling…

Bike In York Week at Roads of York, PA

May 15, 2011 at 11am to May 20, 2011 at 7pm
Next week is Bike In York Week.  Check out the website at http://bikeinyorkweek.com/.  I just found out about it and it is a very worthwhile event.  During the week, temporary bike lanes will be "coned" off in York.  It would be awesome to see many people using them, showing support for permanent bike lanes!  I plan to commute to work next week.  I'm going to pack my clothes in a backpack and ride from Spry up to Emigsville.  Say hi if…See More

No problem Andy... I was just curious.  I know you did a lot of organizing for the rides and I'm sure it was a lot of work.  I've found that just throwing out a time and a pace for rides works out best.

Barry, Ed asked me if I was interested in doing them again this year.  To which I promptly and politely declined the invitation.  I'm sure he would love to have somebody head this up, but it'll have to be another…

From my experience hosting the Thursday night rides out of Adventure Cycling last year (23 of them) I found that trying to please everybody of all fitness levels with one ride just doesn't work.  I tried, I really did.  And in the…

Monday Night Colonial Coffee Shop Ride at Colonial Coffee Shop

Thumbnail
March 28, 2011 from 5:30pm to 7pm
Traditionally there is a group ride that leaves from the Colonial Coffee Shop (by the York Hospital) at 5:30 on Monday nights.  Let's start this back up next week on March 28th.  This is an easy ride suitable for everyone, we wait at the tops of hills and the ride is usually around 1 hour and 30 minutes long.

Russel, Welcome to York County and our cycling community!  This web site is a good one to find group rides posted, as is the www.ycscu.com web page.  The events calendar is pretty quiet in February, but once the weather softens up a bit…

Spring Tuesday Night Training Rides, every week starting 3/22 at John O'Keefe Park

March 22, 2011 from 5:30pm to 7pm
http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/1936046This will be a recurring "Show and Go" (no ride leader) training ride on Tuesday nights through the end of May. We will use these rides to get that "good feeling" in the legs and help each other gain fitness. We'll be having some fun with this by alternating some pace line practice, interval nights, and even hare-'n-hounds pursuits. Suggest you attend Ted's event on Sunday March 13 at 2 PM to…See More
