Help finding a Hotel in York Near the NCR Trail?
York Cycling Folks,
I'm a Baltimore biker looking for help. Want to travel with some fellow bikers up the NCR trail in the the summer and spend the night in York. I heard the best hotel & most convenient is the Yorktowne, but they're booked the weekend we want to go. A York Visitor Center rep suggested the Holiday Inn Express. They thought there might be an exit from the trail that would lead to a relatively safe and close ride to the hotel. Doesn't appear that way from a map. Any suggestions? or can anyone verify what the Visitor Center rep suggested. Looking for something not too far from the trail and a relatively safe bike ride.

How far are you willing to travel off the trail? Unfortunately the Yorktowne is the closest and safest option. There are a few other options that would require 2-3 miles of city streets and crossing a 4 lane highway(route 30) towards the end( this is not so bad on weekends ) . The Holiday Inn express is not so assessable by bike as you would have to travel on route 30 to get there.
There are also some options in East York that are closer to a better variety of easily accessible eating options , but is about 4 miles from the trail end.
