Has anyone invested in one before purchasing a road bike? I know any LBS can become "certified" in bike fitting but like everything else someone has "skill" that this community would recomend...I would be willing to drive to Lancaster and Harrisburg also....Thanks!

Kelly, the wrong fit can really ruin your bike purchase. There are a few people in this area I would trust to fit me for a new bike. Rob from Spinners near New Holland, ERA either owner, and Kirk at Simplicity in Hanover. Rob you will pay for it but he has fit kit and is certified. ERA and Kirk know what they are doing from years of experience and they could most likely teach a certification course because of all the experience.

Something else to remember each bike is different and the components should be considered when sizing. So don't just think frame, make sure the person fitting you knows.

Just make sure your feet fit the pedals

I love to answer this question when I hear it. The answer I like to tell comes from some guy named Eddy Merckx and let me think for a min..... All I remeber, Lance Armstrong. People say there like the best racers ever or some thing. But it goes like this. Lance is out on a team training ride and the Cannibal (merckx) is along to ride and vist. Merckx rides up next to Lance and says it looks like your saddle is to high. So Lance stops and pretended to lower it. Rides back up to the group and Merckx says that looks a lot better! Take what you want from it.

Email "Brain Stoner" he's on the website. He knows someone in Lancaster who's excellent in bike fit.

kelly, world cup ski and cycle in mechanicsburg is really good at fitting bikes. Lee is the owner and is really intense with getting the right fit. he will spend the time and get you comfortable in the right position. phone # is 717-730-9402. tell them i referred you and they will hook you up! cost is about $80 but if you buy a bike there that money goes towards the bike purchase.
